I felt I could develop my skills and abilities as an artist and broaden my knowledge of design so I decided to take a one-year Art Foundation course. During this year, I was exposed to many different types of media and challenged both intellectually and creatively; it helped me to understand what truly interested me. My established interest in fashion and materials led me to choose textiles as my central pathway. Despite choosing textiles, my designs were consistently much larger than what would be associated with a textile or fashion product. I became intrigued with what I was able to construct with a variety of materials and how they performed in an unorthodox environment. This year, I moved away from pure art to a more human-interactive art.
